SolsticeEvening by Laura McRae Hitchcock, a museum quality fine art print, depicts the landscape of the Shannon River Estuary looking down from Cnoc an Oir, County Kerry, Ireland on the night of the summer solstice.
"In 2016 I spent 2 months in Listowel, County Kerry, Ireland for an artist residency. It changed me forever. It was the first time I'd left my family for more than a few days. And it was the first time I'd had a chance to spend that much time on my art. The night of the summer solstice we went up to the top of Cnoc an Oir, a small mountain not far from Listowel. We sat up there and watched the sun go down at 10pm. We listened as the sounds of dogs barking, the wind blowing, and odd sounds far below drifted up to us. It was beautiful, magical. ..a night I'll remember forever." Laura
